Memories & Giveaways

Boy in a Dining Car -Norman Rockwell

I love this Norman Rockwell painting for its sentiment, autumnal hues, and for my own memories of train travel. As a young girl, I rode the old Union Pacific from California to Nebraska. We had dinner in the Dining Car with a smiling Waiter much like this one. He was so pleasant! My bothers and I thanked him so much that my dad actually scolded us.

And, then there was the old health nut—head shaven—who kept insisting that I have another piece of carob. That day I learned that carob is counterfeit chocolate!

NOTE: Don't miss my AUTUMN TEA GIVEAWAY (2 posts down.)

Hello KJ,
Thank you for the lovely Fall e-card you sent me!
I too have loved train trips - two overnight trips in sleeper cars, plus many Boston to NY trips to visit our daughter (who now lives in Canada!)
Your blog looks beautiful!
Hope you are well.
Hugs,
