FAITH-FILLED LIVING | SWEET TREASURES | SIMPLE PLEASURES

Words

Mary, from Visits With Mary, posted a thoughtful blog piece today concerning the power of words. I was inspired to visit my poetry archives and post something I penned 16 years ago. I still recall how intensely this poem came to me. It is a sobering reminder of how we must diligently manage our words.
W O R D S

By spoken words we shape our world,
Confessions – good or bad – unfurled;
With life and death in the power of the tongue,
By simple words, we’re sprung or hung.

God’s Word provides the “soul” solution
To cleanse and filter thought pollution;
For ultimately the words we speak
Are fashioned by the words we seek.

I LIKE THAT!!! So true. If I'd just pay attention to my mouth as often as I pay attention to everything that encircles me -- for good or bad -- life would truly be Truthful and Truth filled.
